When Each Service Matters

Northern Ontario's growing season is shorter than southern Ontario, which means timing each service to the right window matters more here than further south. Below is roughly when Greenpoint visits a typical property through the year.

April

Late thaw window

Spring Cleanup. Once the ground firms up. Debris, salt, gravel, dethatching, sharp first cut.

May to August

Peak growth

Weekly Mowing on a fixed day. Hedge Trimming first round in late May or early June. Fertilizer steps 1 and 2.

July to August

Mid-season

Hedge Trimming second round on vigorous cedars. Fertilizer step 3 (summer maintenance ratio).

September

Best seeding window

Overseeding opens. Soil still warm, nights cool, weed pressure down. Fertilizer step 4 (fall root building).

Do you offer all six services for the same property?

Yes. Roughly 60% of Greenpoint customers in Powassan and North Bay run the full service mix on the same property, either through the Gold package or through a Silver package plus seasonal add-ons. The advantage is one crew, one schedule, and one consolidated property note. The crew that mows your lawn weekly is the same crew that does your spring cleanup and fall leaf removal.

Can I bundle services and save money?

Yes. Silver and Gold monthly packages bundle the most-requested services at a flat rate that beats booking each one separately. Add-ons (extra hedge trims, tree pruning, leaf removal between visits) are quoted at the same time as the package, so the whole property is on one estimate. New customers also receive 10% off their first service across any package.

Do you take on commercial properties for the full service mix?

Yes. Greenpoint is fully insured for commercial work and handles small business properties, condo grounds, and commercial lots across the Powassan and North Bay area. Commercial properties usually run a custom service mix rather than a packaged plan because lot size, traffic, and aesthetic requirements vary so much. Contact us for a custom commercial quote.

Which service should I book first as a new customer?

If you are starting in spring, book Spring Cleanup plus weekly mowing. The cleanup resets the property and the mowing keeps it ahead of growth. If you are starting mid-season, weekly mowing alone is fine and you can layer in fertilizer or hedge work on the next available visit. Starting in fall, the most useful first booking is Fall Cleanup with overseeding bundled together.

How do I know which services my lawn actually needs?

Send your address and any photos you have. Travis will send back an honest assessment of what the property actually needs and what can wait. Greenpoint will not upsell services your lawn does not need. Often a free quote becomes a recommendation to do less, not more (skip the dethatching this year, just mow weekly and fertilize once, see how it responds).
